A Look Back and a Look Forward
We’ve reached the six month mark for our blog and recently spent some time thinking about where we might go from here. We’ve appreciated your feedback on the site, and the comments we’ve gotten in person. We’re also pleased with the traffic we’ve had! With very little publicity, we had more than 4400 page visits last month! We’re committed to continuing to try and link children and adolescent literature and the Biblical story while we link our Union-PSCE academic community and the local church.
Here are some of the things you can look forward to beginning mid-summer:
1. On Mondays, we’ll link a children’s book with each one of the Revised Common Lectionary texts for the upcoming week.
2. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we’ll continue with our faith reviews on a variety of books.
3. On Wednesdays, we’ll start a new feature called “Favorite Books” in which various students and professors and alums will do a short blog entry on a children’s or adolescent book they’re reading that they think is particularly noteworthy.
4. On Fridays, we’ll be offering more of our ideas or curriculum for using children’s books in educational settings.
Although these changes won’t be made for a few months, we wanted you to know we’re hard at work keeping this site fresh and we hope you’ll keep tuning in and give us your feedback.
