Friends, over the last six weeks, I have received MANY emails from WordPress.com indicating people are asking for access to our old Storypath site which was made private at the end of December in preparation for taking it down entirely. I couldn’t quite figure out why we were getting so many requests to see the old site when all of our content was on the new site. But after receiving an email over the holidays and another question on this blog yesterday, I’ve figured out what is happening. (I think!)
When we transferred our content from our old platform to this new one, we did some testing and were confident that all content had transferred successfully. What we failed to recognize, however, is that links to downloadable content (mainly PDF files) were still pointing to our old site which we, as administrators, could see. But when you are our new site and click on a link to something to download, you are immediately taken to our OLD site which you can’t access and are asked to request permission!
I apologize for this oversight and am working as quickly as I can to update our media library on THIS site so you can easily get to these downloadable files. We are not granting access to the old site, but you can help me provide you with the information you need quickly by sending me a direct email that includes the link to the blog post that is not allowing you to see downloadable content. I will do those first.
Use the contact form below to let me know any links you’d like me to correct quickly – and I hope to have all links updated within the next two weeks. I do apologize for making it harder to get where you’re trying to go!
