Preaching Text: Romans [3:28-30] 5:1-11
Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes
(Written for ages 4-8)
Comment: In Wemberly Worried, Wemberly worries about everything, all the time. She is most worried about going to school. When she first arrives, she is worried as usual, but then she is introduced to a new friend named Jewel. Wemberly and Jewel play together and bond over their dolls and Wemberly finds that with Jewel to play with, she worries much less. In his letter to the Romans, Paul says that they have “peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”. What this means is that with Jesus Christ in their lives, they don’t have to worry, they can be at peace. Like Wemberly meeting Jewel, who helped her worry less, for us, having Jesus in our lives means that we don’t have to worry. We can be at peace.
