Comment: “I have been with you wherever you went…” This text helps to remind us that God is bigger than any house we attempt to build. When exploring this idea with the children of your church, consider that some people believe God can only be found in church buildings. Yet this text tells us that God is with us everywhere—in the fields, on the road, in our homes. Home is a lovely picture book that takes us around the world (and beyond!) as we imagine the various homes where people live. When pairing this story with today’s text, we provide space to visualize God’s presence in all of these places. With Ellis we wonder: “Where is your home? Where are you?” and we consider too: “Where is God?”
